Suprises at the upcoming April 7th auction!

The strong February launch to the auction season was followed by a not-so-strong March auction, even though this time there were fewer items and lower starting prices. It seems that higher priced items are more popular. Nevertheless, we will always keep lots from the lower starting price ranges to attract newcomers to the hunt.

As an April joke, we will start 10 earlier auctioned but unsold items at the rock-bottom price of 1,000 HUF and see how they go. Last time we did this with the 1 HUF piano at our Christmas 2009 auction, there was some heavy bidding and great excitement. Hope it will happen once again.

We already have some very exciting items for the April auction, and entries are still open. We are looking for quality artworks, silverware, paintings, sculpture, archive rarities, collectibles, autographed books, first prints, maps, etc.

We are not auctioning contemporary art this time. The next auciton selling such items will be our two-day May auction and then the next Christmas auction.

Unsold items will remain on sale for about 10 more days after the auction at starting price + 40%. Interestingly, we sell many of these unsold items after the auction sale. We are wondering why buyers don't go for them at the auction at a much more favourable price?

Our next auction is on 7 April. Deadline for submitting entries is 16 March. The online catalogue is available from 23 March.

The yearly schedule of our auctions is availabe here. Only in Hungarian for now, sorry.

We look forward to seeing you at our auctions. Happy bidding!
