Pinter Auction House held an art auction on October 7th in Pinter Sonja Gallery, the first in a series of three sales in the second half of 2009. The sale featured a variety of contemporary and classic artworks, mostly paintings and sculpture. This time these were complemented by rare and precious items of jewellery, furniture, and silverware. From October, Pinter Auction House will hold its auctions regularly, on the first Wednesday of each month.
The next auction sale of Pinter Auction House will be held in late September or early October, 2009, in cooperation with Pinter Sonja Gallery. The auction will focus on contemporary paintings, sculptures, videos, mobiles, and installations. Then in late November or early December, a two-day auction will take place, selling modern and classical paintings, sculptures, artifacts, jewellery, silver, porcelain, and antique furniture rarities.
By establishing Pinter Auction House, we have introduced a new sales form in our Gallery and successfuly conducted two auctions in November 2008 and May 2009. However, the traditional sales channels continue to play an important role in Pinter Antik's antique furniture and classical art business.
On 18 April, Saturday, another exciting Falk Art Forum event took place in the gallery district of Budapest. Pinter Gallery boasted a classy café atmosphere on this evening and presented a teasing preview of the upcoming art auction. In the café set up on Pin tér flamenco guitarist András Varga entertained the guests all afternoon.
To most of us, starting a new year is always a source of new hope. A clean sheet that we can write and paint on through the new year. In order to make one of the first colours on the clean sheet bright and positive, we are giving our valued friends and customers a new year's concert as a present. It was for the 9th time that the famous Art Collectors' Night festival took place in the Falk Miksa Street area on 31 July, 2008. Our Gallery presented the new exhibition of Hungarian sculptors Szilvia Takács and Tamás Körösényi, entitled Commode Pieces. The exhibition will be open until 6 September. From 9 p.m. Dresch Quartet gave a memorable concert in the Marko Room.
Miskolc and Budapest based MissionArt Gallery held their 6th auction in the Museum of Ethnography, Budapest, on 29th May, 2008. The auction lots had been exhibited in the rooms of Pinter Sonja Gallery of Modern Art.
On 5th April, 2008, it was the fourth time for the Falk Art Forum festival to take place in the "Gallery District" of Budapest. This is the antiques and modern art festival organized by the antiques shops and galleries inhabiting Falk Miksa and the surrounding streets. As a part of this Festival, the cellars of Pintér Antiques and Pintér Sonja Gallery of Modern Art were the venue for two great programmes: the concert and literary show of the Sebő Ensemble, and the concert of the avantgarde jazz formation Grencsó Bio Kollektív.
