We have arrived at another milestone of our friendly and professional co-operation with MissionArt Gallery this Thursday at 6 p.m.: Katalin Aknai will show us round the two galleries, giving a guided tour of Tamás Lossonczy's exhibitions entitled Chords of Joy.
We had been looking forward to the first art auction of the year with great excitement, partly because of the unusual timing, as well as the unpredictable consequences of the economic crisis. The interest, the number of bidders as well as bidding orders and phone bids have gone happily beyond our expectations.
At the first of 2010's popular art gallery nights, we have set off the exhibitions season with a very important event. There is a large-scale exhibition of the works of the recently deceased painter Tamás Lossonczy, curated by Katalin Aknai. The exhibition entitled Chords of Joy displays 170 of the painter's oil paintings from his rich oeuvre.

Virya – one of Péter Gálhidy's grass sculptures is so titled. The word has its roots in Sanskrit, and is the stem of words like virulent and many others meaning energy, effort, living force. Power to keep you alive, force that gives you a positive charge, energy to make you better. The grass blades, fresh buds, leaves, blossoms – sculpted, painted or otherwise reproduced – tell their own story about Nature in a way that's quite out of the ordinary.
